Anson's Random Dumps #7
One week in. I am starting to procrastinate writing new entries and also my summer homework.
My procrastination. This so-called “summer vacation” was quite the short one. Felt like a week ago was the closing assembly, and now we’re one week away from the new school year. And I still haven’t started work.
Considering how I usually spend 3 days doing summer homework, and this year I am giving myself over a week’s time, I’d probably be fine. Procrastination as a whole though, that’s interesting.
Everyone procrastinates. We’d love to not do a thing to such a degree, that we’d keep delaying doing it, in place of doing other things. Such is called procrastination. Like me, procrastinating my homework for gaming.
However, procrastination seems like a very human thing. Usually, other animals don’t procrastinate. At least, they don’t seem to be. If they need to get food, they go out to get food immediately. Even a cat, who is hungry, is going to bolt straight at you to ask for it. Humans, on the other hand, adore making up tons of excuses – sometimes even none, to delay even the simplest of tasks.
But, why do humans procrastinate? From my personal experience, it’s usually strong resentment to a certain thing that makes us want to steer clear of it, and not touch it ever.
But then, you’ll have to do it anyway. Such are the perils of the human world, forcing people to do things they don’t want to do for “economic stability” and “success”. So maybe try not to procrastinate? I shall probably say that to myself.
It’s 04:28 as I’m writing this sentence. My brain is extra agile in solving programming problems during 3-5am, but it seems to me that there are no boosts for brainstorming other things. Therefore, I’m signing this off right now. And yeah I wrote this entire thing in 10 minutes? Not even I myself could quite believe this lol.
